{"id":817,"date":"2025-10-10T17:57:05","date_gmt":"2025-10-10T17:57:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.citizensforbetterelections.org\/?page_id=817"},"modified":"2025-10-10T18:11:54","modified_gmt":"2025-10-10T18:11:54","slug":"2025-municipal-election","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.citizensforbetterelections.org\/","title":{"rendered":"2025 Municipal Election"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Deadline to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pavoterservices.pa.gov\/Pages\/VoterRegistrationApplication.aspx\">Register<\/a>: Monday, October 20, 2025\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Check registration status <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pa.gov\/agencies\/vote\/voter-registration\/check-my-registration-status\">here<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You must be a U.S. citizen and a resident of Pennsylvania at least 30 days before the election.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Voting by Mail:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pavoterservices.pa.gov\/OnlineAbsenteeApplication\/#\/OnlineAbsenteeBegin\">Application<\/a> due: by October 28, 5 pm (for <strong>receipt<\/strong> by county election board)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To vote by mail in 2025, you must apply again, even if you have voted by mail before<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you received an <em>application<\/em> but wish to vote in person instead, simply discard the <em>application<\/em>. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You may cancel your ballot request <a href=\"https:\/\/www.montcopa.org\/DocumentCenter\/View\/28117\/Permanent-Status-Cancellation-Form?bidId=\">here<\/a> but if  your ballot was already sent, you must bring it and its voter declaration envelope with you to your polling location if you wish to vote in person instead.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Voted ballot must be <strong>received<\/strong> by county by November 4, 8pm<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In-person Voting: Tuesday, November 4, 7am-8pm\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Find your <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pavoterservices.pa.gov\/Pages\/PollingPlaceInfo.aspx\">polling place.<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you received your mail-in ballot but wish <strong>to vote in person instead<\/strong>, turn in your ballot AND the envelope with the voter\u2019s declaration at your polling place.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Want to protect the vote? <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vote.pa.gov\/resources\/pages\/be-a-poll-worker.aspx\">Work at the Polls<\/a> (students welcome!)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Voting by Mail &#8211; Step by Step<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you applied for a mail-in or absentee ballot online by the deadline (October 28):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Receive<\/strong> your ballot by mail (check status <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pavoterservices.pa.gov\/Pages\/BallotTracking.aspx\">here<\/a>).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Complete<\/strong> your ballot using the instructions included with it, making sure to <strong>fill in ovals<\/strong> on the ballot to make your selections &#8211; no X or check marks! See also: this <a href=\"https:\/\/www.phillymag.com\/news\/2020\/05\/14\/pennsylvania-mail-in-ballot-instructions\/\">helpful article<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Insert<\/strong> your ballot in the privacy envelope and seal it. Be sure not to make any stray marks on the privacy envelope.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li> <strong>Insert<\/strong> the sealed privacy envelope in the outer envelope (with the declaration printed on it). <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Make sure to complete and SIGN and DATE<\/strong> the declaration as directed in the instructions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Use a drop-box location<\/strong> (see below) to cast your ballot.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pavoterservices.pa.gov\/Pages\/BallotTracking.aspx\">Check ballot status<\/a> to determine if your county has received your ballot by November 4.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If your ballot has <em>not<\/em> been received by the county by November 4, you can <strong>vote in person <\/strong>on November 4 by either:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Turning in your ballot AND the envelope with the voter\u2019s declaration at your polling place (preferred); or<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Voting by provisional ballot.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Concerned about missing a mailing?
