Problems on Election Day?

NAME NOT IN THE POLL BOOK? ASK A POLL WORKER TO:

  • Ask Voter Services about your registration
  • Direct you to the correct polling location
  • Give you a provisional ballot you can track
  • You should also follow up afterwards (see below)

VOTING MACHINE NOT WORKING?

Double-check that the voting machine registers your vote properly.  If you notice any problems:

  • DO NOT press the “cast vote” button and DO NOT leave the booth.  
  • Stay in the booth and ask for a poll worker to examine the problem
  • Insist that you be allowed to vote on a different machine
  • Request the Judge of Elections to take the broken machine out of service
  • Write down the ID # of the machine
  • If none of the machines are working, you have the right to vote on an emergency paper ballot (see below)
  • Follow up Afterwards (see below)
